End of the Year Book Tag

Today I have a little book tag for you! It has been a while since I have done a book tag so I am super excited to be sharing this one! There may also be more this month, who knows!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

There is indeed! Only one book really falls into this category and that is The Secret History by Donna Tartt! I started this book way back in June and was really enjoying it, but I have been so busy that I ended up getting distracted and read something else and just never picked it up again! I am really hoping I can get to it soon though as I definitely want to finish it and think I will really love it when I do!

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Here in the UK it is solidly Winter now, but I don’t have a specific book! I do tend to read quite differently depending on the season, and through Winter I tend to read more Fantasy, so I guess I could say that a very atmospheric Fantasy novel prepares me for the end of the year, and my current read, The Binding by Bridget Collins, fits that description pretty well!

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Not as far as I am aware! I don’t think there are any December releases I am anticipating this year, but there were so many in November and even more in January so I really don’t mind!

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

There are far more than three, but my top priorities are:

  • The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
  • Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend
  • A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab

Fingers crossed I get to these and a lot of others!

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I think that my top book of the year will be very difficult to beat, but there is always a chance! I have heard amazing things about The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon so maybe that will take the top spot? We will have to wait and see!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2019?

ABSOLUTELY!!! I have so many amazing books I want to read in 2019 and some specific reading goals, but if you want to find out more about that you’re going to have to wait for my 2019 Reading Goals post which is coming very soon!

Well this was a fun little tag to sum up the last few weeks of this year!! I hope you enjoyed it and found out a little more about my reading for the final part of 2018!
