December was a great reading month!! It didn't start out too well because I was very busy at university so couldn't read too much, but in the last two weeks of the month I was able to read loads, and it has been one of my best reading months of the year.
Firstly, I feel I need to say that this book has such an interesting and innovative concept, but it does require suspending your belief throughout reading this book! I do not know how to categorise this book, some combination of contemporary and sci-fi maybe? But either way it is fascinating and such an original way of representing the ideas and issues discussed in this book.
I have such a fun post for you today! Recently Mackenzi Lee (author of The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue) put on her Instagram her top 5 underrated or underhyped books that were released in 2018, and it has completely taken off! I think this is such a fantastic tag and challenge, to talk about some amazing books which just didn't get the recognition they deserved this year! So here I go, I am excited to share with you my love for these books!
This wonderful tag was created by Kate over at Reading Through Infinity and I am so excited to do it, and hopefully it will get me even more into the Christmas mood!
So, this book took a little while to grow on me, but I can absolutely say that I ended up adoring it and falling thoroughly in love with the plot, the premise, and most specifically the characters! I am so glad to have read this book, and if it ever happens I would love to read more stories set in this world with these characters!
Today I have a little book tag for you! It has been a while since I have done a book tag so I am super excited to be sharing this one! There may also be more this month, who knows!
This hasn't been my most successful reading month sadly as I have been so busy with university deadlines and all sorts of other things such as rehearsals and dance competitions across the country! So as you can see, reading hasn't exactly been my top priority this month! I finished a total of 5 books this month, and am in the middle of 2 others!
I really enjoyed this book, it was fun and quick to read but did also get into some interesting issues. This was the exact sort of book I needed at this time, something that was easy to get into and kept me captivated throughout! It wasn't a perfect book but it definitely did its job of being a charming contemporary read that really explored the characters and their situations.
Hi everyone! Today I have something a little different for you! I am currently reading Halcyon by Rio Youers and am really enjoying it so far! This is a new horror/thriller release and this is the perfect time of year to read it! It is creepy and atmospheric and seriously interesting! But I don't have a review for you today, instead I have an extract! This is one of my favourite sections from what I've read so far and I am so excited to be sharing it with you!
